Our highly trained massage therapists tailor their expert treatment to each individuals specific issues. Our remedial massage is a very specific and targeted modality, leaving our clients feeling more relaxed and comfortable after treatment.
Improve overall posture
Many of our patients combine these two treatments! A remedial massage before chiropractic treatment allows all the muscles to be completely released which shows the chiropractor the joints that still need to be mobilised or adjusted. This also allows the chiropractor the time to focus on the other modalities available such as dry needling, shockwave, and/or exercise rehab.
We understand that you are in physical discomfort and pain. Or that this might be your first time visiting an allied health clinic. At Pittwater Chiro, we pride ourselves on our communication. We will make every effort to help you feel comfortable, safe, and welcome.
Remedial massage is a targeted, clinical style of massage designed to assess and treat muscles, tendons and connective tissue that are tight, overworked or injured.
Remedial massage aims to:
Our massage therapists tailor each session to your goals — whether that’s pain relief, recovery from training, or simply feeling less tight and restricted.
Remedial massage may assist with:
It can also complement chiropractic, shockwave therapy and exercise rehabilitation.
Remedial massage can feel firm or intense at times, particularly when working on tight areas. However, it should never feel overwhelming or unbearable. You should be able to breathe throughout the discomfort. If you find yourself holding your breath, this will only create muscle guarding so let your massage therapist know to reduce the pressure.
We always adjust pressure to your comfort level. Communication is key — you’re in control.
No referral is required to book a remedial massage.
If you’re seeing one of our chiropractors, we often collaborate internally to create a combined plan of care to get the best benefits for you.
Yes, with our Balgowlah massage therapist, Di Boyd. If you have private health insurance with extras cover for remedial massage, you may be eligible to claim on the spot using HICAPS with Di. Lisa, although having a Diploma in Remedial Massage, has not been reaccredited with the private health funds, and thus she has lower fees to reflect this.
We recommend checking with your insurer regarding your level of cover.
Wear comfortable clothing. You will be asked to lie on the table in your underwear, and the massage therapist will drape towels over your body. Only the area being treated is uncovered and then recovered when the massage therapist moves onto a new area. Your comfort and privacy are always prioritised.
We offer 30-minute sessions, 60-minute sessions and 90-minute sessions.

Absolutely. Many of our patients combine massage and chiropractic treatment for better results. Massage can reduce muscle tension, making adjustments more comfortable and effective. Due to this, many of our patients book a massage before their chiropractic appointment.
